In this article we discuss the form of teacher evaluation adopted in the state of elementary and secondary education in the State of São Paulo (Brazil) in the last fifteen years. This is an evaluation strategy that began to be implemented in the 1990s and has been refined under the influence of theoretical and conceptual of the State Reform and the Public Administration Management (new public management).
